About the event
Giuseppe Pennisi was born in Bronte, a small town on the slopes of the Etna volcano, in 1955.
He moved to Switzerland with his parents where he attended compulsory schooling and in 1973 he obtained the federal diploma in photography.
He worked for many years alongside Neno Atos Brunel and Franco Calloni, photographers and owners of the most renowned and oldest photographic studio in Ticino, where he learned, in particular, the art of photographic portraiture.
For over twenty years he was the official photographer of the prestigious Thyssen-Bornemisza Foundation for which he created numerous art catalogues. The opportunity to deal almost daily with the works of the major masters of ancient and modern art will be an inexhaustible source of inspiration for him.
For 8 years he was professor of static photography at the CISA (International Center of Audiovisual Sciences)
After graduating as a Multimedia Operator from the CSIA-SUPSI in Lugano, from 2000 to 2015 he directed the photographic department of the Arounder project based on panoramic and navigable photography. It develops and implements projects for the promotion of the territory with public and tourist bodies in Europe, North Africa and China. In 2016 he confuses the projectKimage.ch
